For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9 promises that Jesus is coming…

Good news: 

HE. IS. HERE.

When our 8 year old has invited a friend over and we are waiting for them to get here minutes can feel like hours. For her, because she is so excited that they are coming to play, for us, because she asks every 30 seconds when they will get here and if we are tracking their location!

But the moment she spots a car pulling up in front of the house? She absolutely loses her mind — “THEY’RE HERE!!!” — and sprints to throw the door wide open.

That feeling… but times a million… is how I want my heart to be on Christmas Day! It's the BEST DAY… arguably the greatest day in all of human history (the theologians can battle it out if Christmas or Easter wins that prize)! Today is the day that we get to shout and celebrate that HE IS HERE! Jesus showed up, fulfilled the promise, began the rescue mission, and showed us what love looks like! 

I hope you are able to swing a door wide open — figuratively or literally —today and shout “He is here!”.
